DeFi: Talise Adds a USDsui-Funded Virtual Card and Naira On-Ramp to Its Dollar Wallet on Sui

Talise, a dollar wallet built on Sui, launched a virtual card on Tuesday that users create and fund with USDsui, the Sui Dollar stablecoin. The company says the card can be used anywhere cards are accepted online, including for subscriptions and online shopping. Talise said identity verification (KYC) is required to open a card.

The card follows an on-ramp that went live on Monday, which Talise says lets users fund their accounts with Nigerian naira and receive USDsui.

What Talise is

Talise describes itself as a self-custodial, gasless dollar account. Users sign in with Google or Apple through Sui's zkLogin, so there is no seed phrase, and each account gets a readable name, such as maya@talise.sui, backed by a SuiNS subname. Balances are held in USDsui, which Talise's litepaper says is issued by Bridge, a Stripe company. Payments settle on Sui in under a second, and USDsui transfers are gasless on the Sui Network.

Other features listed on its website and documentation include:

  • Private sends. An optional shielded pool hides the amount of a transfer onchain using a zero-knowledge proof. Talise says the pool is live on mainnet.
  • Payment links and QR codes. Users can be paid by name, link or QR code, or send money as a claimable link.
  • Yield. Idle balances can earn through non-custodial lending on Sui. The litepaper names NAVI as the lending venue.
  • Bank payouts. The website lists payouts to banks or mobile wallets in more than 15 countries, and cash-out to Nigerian and US bank accounts.

The company's support page says cash-out is limited to $200 per day per account during the beta, with higher limits after identity verification. Cash-out is not yet open in every region.

Hackathon origins

Eromonsele Odigie, who built Talise, wrote on LinkedIn that the first commit was made on May 19, 2026, and that a trip to Singapore in October included a talk at Sui Basecamp. The project placed second in the DeFi & Payments track at Sui Overflow 2026, a result announced on Aug. 27. Odigie has said the placing earned $15,000.

Talise is in beta. The app is available on iOS through TestFlight and on the web at app.talise.io, and access opens in batches. A live counter on the Talise website showed nearly $14,850 settled onchain across roughly 2,500 transactions and 2,400 accounts on Wednesday.

SuiWire found no announced funding round for Talise and could not confirm which company issues the card.

Why it matters

Talise aims to make Sui's stablecoin rails usable without any crypto setup: a Google sign-in, a name instead of an address, and no gas. With naira deposits on one end and a spendable card on the other, the app now covers both getting dollars onto Sui and spending them.
