Suiball Delays Hardware Wallet Shipments for New Security Audits
Suiball founder @moonrunner2088 said pre-ordered devices will ship after independent security audits expected to take a few months. Suiball's official X account is suspended, and no refund option was mentioned.

Suiball, the Sui-native hardware wallet developed by Citadel Wallet, has delayed deliveries of pre-ordered devices while it runs new independent security audits. Suiball founder @moonrunner2088 announced the delay on October 21 in a community update shared from the founder's personal account, because the official @SuiballO account is suspended.
What the founder said
The founder said the team had been ready to begin shipping devices, and that Suiball's security architecture was derived from Citadel Wallet's first-generation hardware wallet, described in the update as fully audited. Then came a wave of attacks targeting hardware wallets across the industry, the founder said. The team had protections in place, the update said, but after discussions with the Mysten Labs and Sui Network teams it decided to follow their recommendation to run new, independent security audits before any device ships.
The founder said the audits will take a few months, and that devices already claimed by pre-order supporters are recorded and will ship once the audits are complete.
The update opened with an apology, saying the team had been "quiet for too long."
The X account
The founder said the @SuiballO account on X has been "temporarily suspended," that the team is working to have it reinstated, and that updates will come from the founder's personal account until then. The update warned users to be careful of accounts claiming to represent Suiball. As of publication, X showed the @SuiballO account as suspended.
What comes next
The update listed three next steps: reinstating the X account, completing the new security audits and publishing the results, and sharing an updated delivery timeline once the audits are done.
The founder also said Suiball will get a new name and identity, to be revealed soon, and that the device will add new features. These include an agent admin account built on Sui Agent Pass for setting limits on AI agents, clear signing for major Sui DeFi apps, support for Hashi, Sui's protocol for bringing Bitcoin onchain, a companion web app and support for upcoming post-quantum accounts on Sui.
What is unconfirmed
Pre-order holders have said claims opened June 30, and several said the team indicated in August that shipping confirmation emails would begin in early September. SuiWire could not view the original announcement because the @SuiballO account is suspended, so the original shipping timeline is unconfirmed. The number of pre-orders has not been disclosed. The reason for the X account suspension has not been given. The statement that the Mysten Labs and Sui Network teams recommended the new audits comes from the founder; neither had commented publicly as of publication. The update did not mention a refund option.
Background
Suiball was unveiled at SuiFest in Singapore in October 2025. The Sui Foundation announced it in an October 1, 2025 post on the Sui blog as the first Sui-native hardware wallet, highlighting clear signing, Slush integration and native Bitcoin support, and offering a 35% pre-order discount. The official Sui account also promoted the pre-orders. At launch, pre-orders were reported at $149 against a $229 list price. The Suiball website now lists $179 alongside $229 next to its pre-order button, and says pre-orders come with Suiball NFTs.
SuiWire will update this story as Suiball shares its audit results and delivery timeline.
